John "Mike" Baker, 55, of Palmyra, PA , formerly of Hummelstown, PA passed away suddenly on Monday, February 8, 2021. Mike was born in Altoona PA on May 12,1965. He is the son of the late Joseph Patrick Baker and Shirley (Weyland) Wyper.
Mike is survived by his son Brady Baker, his ex-wife Eileen (Henry) Baker, both of Hummelstown PA, sister Amy Baker and brother Russell Baker both of Altoona, PA as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mike was a 1983 graduate of the Altoona Area High School. Mike was employed by the United States Postal Service in Palmyra as a Letter Carrier for over 22 years. He loved his job and his customers all knew him by name.
Mike enjoyed golf, hunting, animals and traveling. He was a huge Pittsburgh fan-Penguins, Pirates and especially the Steelers and would often say he "bled black and gold." He was also a big fan of Notre Dame football and his weekends during football season were often spent watching his favorite teams. He loved his dog Scout whom he nicknamed Woobie shortly after adopting him 13 years ago.
Mike was very proud of his son Brady who was the greatest joy in his life. Mike will be sorely missed by his family.
To honor Mike's final wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service.
