R. Jean (Ziegler) Sprenkle, 92,of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Friday, April 20, 1928, in Hatfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nelson K. and Lillian (Schwartz) Ziegler. She was married 61years to Gerald A. Sprenkle,who passed away December 3, 2013.
Jean worked as a bookkeeper and waitress, and also worked in a bakery. She was a leader and very active inthe home ec divsion of4-H. Jean was a member of West Green Tree Church of the Brethren, Elizabethtown. She enjoyed gardening and plants, knitting, canning, and collecting Denim Days figurines. After moving to Masonic Village, she enjoyed playing bingo, but loved best being with her family.
Surviving are two daughters: Dorothea E. (Dottie) Walsh and husband Paul, of Telford, PA and Cynthia A. Santoro (Kermit Rishell) of Titusville, FL; six grandchildren: Matthew Walsh, Michelle Walsh, Amanda Pfister, Kecia Moir, Angela Korn, and Michael Walsh; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law Joseph M. Santoro; two brothers: Herbert and Russell Ziegler, and a sister Dorothy Ziegler.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at West Green Tree Cemetery, 740 Greentree Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 1:00 PM.
