Ray Yovanovich Obituary

On March 18, 2022, his 93rd birthday, Ray Yovanovich left this world for heaven. Ray, a resident of Lower Swatara Twp., was born in Mont Alto to Nicola and Mary (Kauffman) Yovanovich. He was raised on the West Side of Steelton and graduated from Steelton High School. He served in the PA Army National Guard. Ray retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years as a field engineer and later served for 5 years as Administrator to Camp Hebron in Halifax. He loved reading, hiking, biking, and most of all, his family. He was a long-time faithful member and Elder of the Steelton Mennonite Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, his son Ray, and his sister Ruth. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marian; daughters Diana Bookbinder (Mark) and Susan Williams, daughter-in-law Janis, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Ray’s brother, Bill (Ruth), and his sisters Lorraine and Dorothy also survive him along with many nieces and nephews.
