Charles E. Crowe, Sr.

Charles E. Crowe, Sr., 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Born September 19, 1928 in Reading, he was the son of the late Sharpless Weidner and Ruth A. (Hornickall) Crowe. He was married 47 years to Margaret J. (Hoffer) Crowe who died in August 1998.

Charles began as a milk hauler in 1968, hauling milk for Hershey Chocolate and retired from Charles E. Crowe & Son, Inc. transportation services in Elizabethtown. He was an avid fan of old westerns and old war movies, and enjoyed country music. He also loved eagles and Native American jewelry. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by three children: a son Charles E. Crowe, Jr., husband of Kris of Eagle, Idaho; a daughter Brenda R., wife of Richard L. Stauffer of Elizabethtown and Brian P. Crowe, husband of Lucinda of Elizabethtown; Nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister Georgina Prokopchak.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from Conoy Brethren in Christ Church, 1722 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be on Monday in Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Tuesday in the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Goods Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
