Thoughts and prayers to the family. It was such an honor to meet Mr. Longenecker. In the short time we knew each other, many memories were made and new friendships emerged. What an amazing guy. He will truly be missed. Til we meet again Marlin.

Vivid memories of Uncle Marlin from the growing up years when his family, Dot's family, and Alma's family would gather for weekly's Sunday meal at Grandma and Grandpa Longenecker's home. Us 7 cousins would always occupied our time together with various adventures and play while the Aunts and Uncles enjoyed their chats with visible laughters. Uncle Marlin stood out well with my vivid memories as he was most certainly the "Life" of the Party !! Also, his Trop Resturant was the site for my family to get the "ice cream" cones whenever Terri or I get an "A" on our school exams. I recalled our Christmas Gatherings at Gerry and Marlin's home as well as Aunt Dot and Uncle Kurt's home. Every Christmas we get together...the Longenecker family pretty much was close knitted. I recall many trips over the 40 some years visiting Marlin at his Lewes Home and even rented out the lower apartment as it was just great to escape to Delaware Bay. That is where I learned to sail !! Took private lessons across the street. With Marlin, I enjoyed the rides on his "Gertie" and once a 'wild' ride on his ATV at his Farm at Rock Hall. He knew how to have fun and indeed inspire and influence my own life as well to be adventurous !
I am grateful to have chatted with Marlin at my parents' 65th Wedding Anniversary Celebration in Maryland in 2014 and also at E-Town Church of God's dedication and luncheon in 2015 to recognized the long termed members. I have Aunt Gerry, Dennis, and Deb in my prayers and thoughts !!!!

Have enjoyed conference telephone calls with Marlin and my folks Ben and Alma (his sister) for the past couple of months, about twice per week. He told a few stories about Trop, those were the days! Plus stories of his baby beef in 4-H when he was a kid. He mentioned the recent thrill of getting out to look at the ducks and deer. My sincere condolences to Denny, Deb and Gerry.
