Paul James Weidler, 97, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, August 17, 2015. He was born Saturday, April 6, 1918 in Lititz to the late R. Guy and Clara (Buckwalter) Weidler.
Paul was a lifelong farmer, tending to his duties until the time of his passing. He enjoyed visiting local diners for breakfast. Paul was a faithful member of the Hellers Church, Lancaster until 1954 when he switched his membership to Christ Church United Church of Christ, Elizabethtown. He was a former member of the Milton Grove Sportsman Club and Kiwanis Club. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by 3 children, Erma Leib, and Carl and Paul “Leon” Weidler; 5 grandchildren, Stacy (Ethan) Gingrich, Justin (Laura) Weidler, Dave, Jr. (Amy) Leib, Robert (Yvonne) Leib, and Megan (Sean) O’Donnell; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Weidler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 grandsons, Richard “Kirk” Leib and Ryan Weidler; and 2 siblings, Miriam Nelson and Earl Weidler.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 21st at 11 AM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022 with The Reverend Dr. Galen E. Russell, III officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until time of the service. Burial will be in Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Hellers Cemetery, Lancaster.
